"They all showed lots of care and compassion"

About: Royal Alexandra Hospital / Elderly Medicine (wards 3-7 & 36) Royal Alexandra Hospital / Stroke Care Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as the patient),

I had first taken unwell on the 11th Janurary 2024. I was picked up from my work by two lovely ladies who's names I think were Emma and Kirsty who made me feel so at ease with everything going on and had the most care and compassion, credit to the SAS. One of them even seen me later on and came up to check on me which was very kind. At resus I had lovely nurse from the stroke unit, I didn't catch her name but she was very kind and caring. I would like to also thank Abbi on the acute medical award as well, she was very helpful and caring.

Sadly I was blued lighted again from work to resus, again I had two amazing ambulance ladies, who's names I didn't catch, but I am sure one of them might of been a Nicola or a Nicole, both of them were very kind and caring and kept me calm, credit to the team also.

After arriving at resus I was met with Dr Will and Specialist stroke nurse Eileen, both of them were so kind and looked after me well.

I was then moved to Ward 6 and I can't praise enough all the staff from the support workers to the student Abby, the whole team there are amazing and a credit to the RAH, they all showed lots of care and compassion and looked after me very well.

I would like to thank Dr McManus for being so caring and empathetic. I felt she actually listened to me and took on board everything I was saying, which I had not felt with the previous consultant. She made me feel I wasn't wasting the staffs time and for that I very grateful.
