I was referred for pelvic floor physiotherapy in connection with very long-standing difficulties in emptying my bowels. I had assumed that nothing would ever change, but have the care I received was excellent and the outcome has been a significant improvement in my daily life.
Eleanor the physiotherapist was clear, kind, understanding, and very thorough in working out what might be of help to me in terms of relaxation, diet, toileting positions and techniques.
She listened attentively, gave excellent coaching in pelvic floor exercises which I had previously found very difficult, was always encouraging as to my progress, and alerted me to the NHS Squeezy app which I have found very helpful. She always involved me in decisions and made me feel in control of my treatment.
The techniques which she recommended have resulted in a significant improvement in my condition. I now have much less difficulty every day, spend a lot less time toileting, and have stopped feeling so anxious about my condition.
