In June 2023, while trying to get back fit at 5 aside football. I had the unfortunate rupture that brought life to a standstill putting all plans on hold and financially challenging due to being out of work.
Coming to terms with the injury and lack of mobility put stress upon the daily norm & was hard to see past.However, Through the journey of recovery I attended the achilles clinic which was held on Thursdays at the Royal Victoria hospital, Belfast.Attending this clinic Through the stages of recovery was a real positive for a number of reasons.Emma who run it was not only amazing at her job but very insightful & a credit to the team at the Royal.I found attending this clinic, a brilliant social aspect for people going through the same struggle, as you meet people at different stages of recovery who show you there's light at the end of the tunnel and give you the push you need in rehabilitation.I also was able to give back to people who were a couple of weeks behind me and inform them how far I had come.A great clinic , keep up the great work 👏
