My son has waited for 4 years for his assessment for ADHD and possibly more. He had a phone consultation that they carried out a pre assessment were the paediatrician stated she feels he was on the higher end of ADHD however this had to be confirmed face to face. Since the call we have now waited 3 years.
My son since has developed anxiety and panic attacks along with other symptoms. He was referred to CAMHS 4 times and 4 times was rejected. My son states he feels un-loved and that nobody cares about him he expressed he is scared and keeps asking for help. CAMHS have said no sorry not our pathway.
As a nurse who works for NHS I am extremely concerned that children don’t get help when they ask and I feel this leads to children taking actions in different ways. Get your act together.
