"I couldn't have asked for a better labour"

I have recently had a amazing home birth with the Fife Home Birth Team. From the start of my pregnancy, Frances (named midwife) answered any worries and questions I had around a home birth. She provided us with evidence-based research, allowing me and my partner to make informed decisions throughout our pregnancy journey.

On the day labour started, Frances was on hand for support and to inform me of next steps. She returned to my house whenever I felt I needed support or to be checked over. As a first time mother, the continuity and consistency of having the same midwife (and team) throughout my pregnancy, and then into labour, was so valuable for me. I felt I built a strong rapport with the team which in turn, helped me feel in control, make decisions and ultimately, have the birth I dreamed of.

The actual birth was magical - I couldn’t have asked for a better labour - and I believe this is due to Frances’ calm & compassionate nature and the continuity of midwives and the Home Birth Team throughout my pregnancy. I will never be able to thank them enough for the amazing memories they have created for me and my partner.
