I experience pelvic floor/prolapse issues over a number of years due to extra long waiting times.
I was eventually referred to a continence nurse after a painfully long and frustrating wait. The nurse was very patient, caring and sympathetic and dealt with my prolapse and incontinence issues with great care and empathy. They treated me with respect and I always felt no doubt that they were on my side throughout.
Over several months of appointments, this nurse continuously dealt with any issues I had, eg continence pads, medication for irritation in that region and pelvic floor exercises. No matter how down I felt when I arrived, they consistently cheered me up with a mix of practical help, good humour and patience. I would like to thank them for all of her care over the past months as well as their obvious wisdom and experience in this field. I can only add that I would like to see more nurses like them in the NHS but I guess they are very rare.
