The therapists gave us exercises to strengthen muscles in legs and arms, also gave us confidence to try and walk again. No pressure applied just encouragement. Started with simple exercises then more moving boundaries.
Each week a learning handout was also discussed e.g staying hydrated, falls etc . All very useful!
I always felt safe and gradually my confidence increased so that I can walk much better than when I started. Also accepting help from walking aids is ok!
My thanks to Theresa and the Avon Valley Team for treating us all as individuals, having patience and caring about us. Thank you all for excellent classes, outstanding care, and going the extra mile to inspire confidence. The tea and biscuits a great addition. Also the opportunity to meet others who have similarly needed help. You don’t need to feel alone with your disability. Thank you Avon Valley!
