"Friendly and efficient staff"

About: Oncology / Radiotherapy

(as the patient),

Staff are all very good in this department - friendly and efficient.

I have no complaints about my treatment, but the one thing I would like to mention is toilets. I think three toilets is not enough for the volume of traffic here; plus they could do with a bit of an improvement, especially the disabled one.

Appointment system works well - only time we are delayed is when one of the machines breaks down and even then the staff try hard to fit everybody in with the machines that are available.

Car parking is always a problem here but I park nearby in Glamis Road and walk to the hospital - which works well for me as I like the walk in the morning!

Dear Fraoch1,

My name is Jenna-I'm one of the therapeutic radiographers who works in the radiotherapy department.

We appreciate you taking the time to leave your feedback and thank you for commenting on the friendliness and efficiency of the staff you met.

We fully understand your comment about the toilets, particularly when there are so many patients having to use them for preparations for their treatment. With our radiotherapy techniques developing, this has increased the number of patients who are having to do this and the number of toilets we have does make this more challenging. When the department was built it was probably thought to be adequate and now isn't always meeting the needs of our patients so I apologise.

Our radiotherapy helpers at reception would always assist to ensure another toilet was found if needed so hopefully this didn't cause you any unnecessary worry. This feedback is always helpful for organisational meetings that management attend so thank you.

Parking is another factor which is brought up at the meetings and is something we know can cause alot of stress for patients so this will also be passed on.

On behalf of the radiotherapy team, we wish you well for the future.

Take care, Jenna
