Recently my husband had to attend A&E at the IRH.
We were greeted by friendly, helpful reception staff, who informed us the department was very busy and the wait may be 5.5 hours. But within an hour and a half we were taken through and my husband was seen by a very professional and friendly doctor called Daniel. We were then taken directly to X-ray by a chatty, friendly porter, where again we were greeted by a very friendly and pleasant radiographer who took the X-rays quickly and efficiently. Once back in the A&E department, the doctor Daniel came back having reviewed the X-rays, and discharged us home with lots of helpful advice, a moon boot and painkillers.
So tonight turned out to be an efficient, professional, friendly and prompt experience from an extremely busy department. Please pass on our thanks to all involved.
