I attended the Glasgow dental hospital as I had broken most of my front tooth off and was in pain fron this. I have a serious phobia of the dentist and this was highlighted during my call with NHS 24 the previous evening when I booked my appointment.
On arrival the reception staff were very welcoming and everything seemed fine. The dental nurse even let me bring my teenage child into the room which helped me relax a little more knowing they were there.
The dentist, however made me feel the exact opposite. From the moment I took the chair they were seemingly reluctant to see me and questioned why I was there and whether I had actually broken my tooth or lost a filling (never to my knowledge has this tooth ever been filled). Said dentist continued to carry out a temporary filling and suggested I visit a dentist ASAP as this filling may or may not fall out. I've come home now feeling like I don't want to visit another dentist and the "filling" that has been done is ragged and causing almost more discomfort than the broken tooth did.
Overall very unhappy with the service and will be reluctant to return as my anxiety towards dental treatment has only been made worse after today's visit.
"Very unhappy with the service"
