My profoundly disabled son has been an inpatient at Victoria Hospital with aspirational pneumonia for a few days. His care staff from his home were told yesterday that the hospital wanted to discharge him, but his care worker expressed concern about his condition and did not feel that he was well enough to go home. They have no medical equipment such as suction at their facility. No transport so he couldn't go home. The care staff also pointed out that my son has had pneumonia so severely in the past that he had to be put on a ventilator in ICU.
Today he was brought to his care facility by ambulance before 9am. His care staff were not informed that he was coming home. He had medication with him but no times it was last administered. The ambulance staff expressed that they were concerned about my son's condition.
My son's care staff are so concerned about his condition that they have called his GP who said to get an ambulance back to hospital.
