"Forever grateful for Inclusion Therapy"

Had a particularly low point and have always lived with depression but decided to make a change last year whilst in a good place and wanting to learn to cope better with my thoughts. Had tried therapy a few times but to no avail but feel it was a mixture of incorrect frame of mind as well as not clicking with the therapist. That was until I went through Inclusion at Thurrock. I was a tad apprehensive at first as had to go through a separate online course but ultimately that is there to help talk through all the various therapies available and narrow down as to which ones would be best tailored to the needs of the individual. 

I was so incredibly impressed with the therapist I was assigned, Ian, as we clicked straight by away and he was a very calm and understanding ear who was happy to try different methods to get to our desired goal. Ultimately we had great success with EMDR treatment which I was unfamiliar with but was happy to try. It made things a lot easier to talk about as well as having the option to stay silent if wanting not to talk about a traumatic experience if embarrassed or for any other reason. Also gives one some valuable skills to use every day as well as after therapy is completed. 

It was a gradual stepping up towards talking about what I really thought may have been the issues which made it more comfortable. As it got deeper, I would begin to dread going to work through something unpleasant but I would come out of the session feeling so much lighter. I’m forever grateful to Ian for the work we achieved over the year of sessions we did together, and for finally feeling a lot better about things as well as achieving a breakthrough that nobody else has for the past twenty odd years of trying. 

A huge thanks to Ian and to Inclusion for all the help and hope they have given me. The only thing that could be improved if the temperature of the room sin summer, as they were quite hot.
