"Warm smile and reassuring demeanor"

About: Glasgow Dental Hospital and School NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde

(as the patient),

I wanted to express my gratitude towards a wonderful member of the photography department at the Dental Hospital on Sauchiehall Street.

I was feeling quite nervous and overwhelmed with all the information being presented to me. Kirstie made me feel incredibly welcomed, with her warm smile and reassuring demeanor. She took the time to thoroughly explain everything that would happen during my appointment, which I greatly appreciated.

I mentioned to Kirstie that I have autism and was feeling anxious about the plastic equipment. She kindly allowed me to hold the equipment to familiarize myself with it, which eased my nerves. Additionally, she showed me photos on the wall to help me visualize the procedure, which was incredibly helpful. Throughout the appointment, Kirstie exhibited exceptional patience and empathy. We established a great rapport, and she consistently checked in with me to ensure I was comfortable at every stage. I truly believe Kirstie deserves recognition for her outstanding care and kindness. I sincerely hope that Kirstie will be there when I return for future appointments. Thank you, Kirstie, for your exceptional patience and kindness.

Dear Jaypt95,

It can sometimes be overwhelming when having a visit to hospital, especially if you are not sure what to expect at your appointment. I know many patients feel concerned and we understand those with autism may need some extra time and support.

I am very pleased to hear Kirstie made your visit to photography so much easier by taking time to explain and show you some photos and pieces of equipment.

I am sure that your feedback will be very helpful to other patients who may be feeling worried about attending Glasgow Dental Hospital. We are very grateful to you for sharing your experience in this way.

Kirstie will be thrilled to read such a complimentary post and I hope your next visit to us is just as positive.

Sending you best wishes,

Fiona
