The receptionist was nice and helpful and told me about free parking (that was the best part of the day!)
In Yarty ward I found the nurses unfriendly and not helpful or reassuring at all. In Interventional radiology, the surgeon asked if I was having 1,2 or 3 Hickman lines fitted and queried the side it was to be fitted- they seemed to think that I would know, as they didn't!
George, one of the nurses, helped me and was lovely the whole way through my ordeal- he stayed all the way through.
The communication between Exeter and Barnstaple hospital did not seem connected, as Exeter did not know I was having Chemo, and booked me in for a hickman line on the same day as my chemo appt at Barnstaple. Nobody communicated re: my blood thinning medication until I actually asked about it
"Poor communication and bedside manner............"
