An appointment was offered and scheduled before Christmas for late January. I went to the appointment early in the morning and waited until early afternoon (as the next person in queue) when I was told the surgery is canceled as it was worse than previously thought. The surgeon reviewed the x-rays the night before and thought it was worse, but wanted a second opinion. While this is understandable, it's unacceptable to be told it's canceled after waiting for 6 hours. It's a waste of time for all parties involved that had to miss work and/or university, and a poor reflection on the NHS.
