"Waiting times"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Initial Assessment Unit

(as a relative),

Wife went to her local GP as antibiotics weren’t working for a kidney and urine infection. As they now do nothing but refer you on, they sent her to the initial assessment unit at the QEUH.

Currently still sitting waiting after over 7 hours, with one person being shouted on in the last 60 minutes. My care opinion is that the care is an absolute joke. Instead of staff standing talking, teach them how to work faster no talk faster

Dear Jason388

I am sorry to hear about the length of time you and your wife have had to wait in the Initial Assessment Unit. Winter has brought increased pressures on our services, which has in turn led to patients waiting longer than we would like.

Please pass on my apologies to your wife and I hope she is feeling better.

Kind Regards

Nicole
