"This causes no end of stress for me as a patient"

About: New Stobhill Hospital / Urology

(as the patient),

Now need Botox treatment every six months - which I am receiving (not every six months though). Received 36 operations/procedures, and is life changing.

To Dr Armstrong: Please do your best to fund this much needed treatment for patients like me. It is a big struggle most times to receive treatment (even though it is diarised) as funding seems to be the problem. So this causes no end of stress for me as a patient for my health and well being and planning for work and life events are non existent when treatment not received when required.

I have ideas on how to save money for the NHS if anyone is interested, and happy to help if required. The team I received treatment from last week are excellent and everything should be done to keep them in the NHS.

My thanks to the Urology team - Morag; Chloe; Adi; Ainslie; Doctor McDonald (who carried out procedure) and Mr McKay - all very nice and caring.

Dear TalkTo711,

Firstly I want to thank you for taking the time to share your story with us on Care Opinion, your feedback is invaluable to the staff. I am deeply sorry to hear that not being able to receive your treatment every 6 months causes you unneeded stress and effects your health and wellbeing, as this treatment appears to be not widely available within the NHS due to constraints. This must be extremely frustrating for you like other patients who rely heavily on this. I can only imagine the toll it would take after 36 procedures, especially after how life changing it is for you. I will be sure to pass your feedback on to the team, whom I am sure are working endlessly to create a solution.

Although I am sure it must be frustrating about the treatment, I am glad to hear that our team here in Day Surgery delivered excellent care, hopefully making you feel at ease, comfortable and heard.

I wish you all the best.

Aimee

I just want to ensure my thanks is noted for the staff that I met on the day.

They are a real credit to the NHS and they were so professional and nice, making a stressful day less so. My thanks again.
