"A dreadful inpatient experience"

About: Midpark Hospital / Adult Mental Health (inpatient)

(as the patient),

I have had a smear campaign against me for a number of years. It’s been non stop, to the point where I get very depressed about it, and was sectioned. Right from the start wasn’t listened to.

At Midpark, Dumfries & Galloway room had only a bed. Second room only a bed with no curtains, 3rd room had bathroom with broken shower. Food was dreadful. I saw staff vaping in the unit. My clinical report was practically victorian, felt stereotyped (old woman who is too sensitive etc) and still no one listened. I felt invalidated, demeaned and invisible.

Arrived in one set of clothes, even paper pants and a dressing gown would have helped. No toiletries given until day 3 when I kept asking for a bath or shower.

Nurses couldn’t even get my name right and it’s not that difficult. They also changed the timing of my medication without telling me. Dreadful experience.
