"good practice"

About: Newgate Medical Group

Hi review people. Thanks to the practice I was referred to Bassetlaw district hospital for a colon check. This was followed by a camera and pile banding of 3 piles. I have suffered from piles for a long time. Three years ago the practice sent me to a private hospital for an examination and followed by banding of piles. From the procedure my condition got worse. Last year the Practice sent me back to the same place and the same consultant whom said that he was reluctant to do anything more as there was a possibility that I may lose control of my bowel. On hearing this I decided to put up with it. However my condition became unbearable so I visited the practice I was then told I needed a examination because of concerns for colon cancer. On examination by a Cancer specialist at Bassetlaw District Hospital I was told that Cancer was unlikely but a camera examination was required. So on 21/01/24 yesterday I had the camera exam and whilst that was been done 3 Piles were banded? So how does it make sense that I should sent to a private hospital 20 miles away for a poor procedure and told what I was told when 1 mile away I could have had the treatment that I just had? I would like to know why one consultant says the procedure is dodgy but then another carries out what appears to be so simple? Thank you for reading Irene Phillips
