Firstly, I would like to voice my gratitude to all the staff on Crichton Unit, they were lovely and nothing was too much trouble.
Where I find myself frustrated is the correspondence we received from the NHS. The letter we received stated that only one adult could attend, I have no problem with this if this is the rules in place but this doesn’t seem to be the case. My son has ASD and can be challenging especially trying to keep him occupied on my own for 6 and a half hours in a waiting room. Again this is in no way a complaint aimed at the staff themselves they were amazing given the pressure they are under on a daily basis.
I would insist that a review of the letter sent to parents attending the hospital with their children be undertaken at your earliest opportunity.
Thanks.
