"Minor op at Vale of Leven Day Surgery Unit."

About: Vale of Leven General Hospital / Day Surgery Unit

(as the patient),

I had a very long wait of 2 1/2 years for a relatively minor op,  from initial GP consultation, through hospital referral, to consultant appointment, and finally the procedure. Far from ideal.

However, on the day of my op, from checking in, through admission, during the procedure, and the care after that while awaiting discharge, the experience was an extremely  positive one.  All levels of staff, from reception, to auxiliaries, to nurses, anesthetic staff, recovery nurses and the consultant,  were friendly, considerate, helpful and professional. Excellent all round.

Dear Scorpio63

Thank you for getting in touch via Care Opinion.

Please accept my apologies for the length of time you had to wait for your surgery and for the inconvenience this caused. I am glad to hear that you had such a positive experience on the day of your surgery. The staff will really appreciate your comments.

I hope you are recovering well.

Best wishes
