"Swept away my fears"

About: Queen Margaret Hospital / Radiology Victoria Hospital / Rapid Cancer Diagnostic Service (RCDS)

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

A visit to the hospital can sometimes make you feel slightly apprehensive. I was therefore a little unsure when I attended an appointment for some tests. Katie and Georgia from the RCDS team swept away my fears.

They were both extremely understanding on how I might be feeling and were very, very kind. They arranged my appointments and explained the process with care and clarity. I was left in no doubt what would be happening on my trip to the hospital.

I cannot tell you how reassuring this was. My CT scan was carried out at Queen Margaret Hospital in Dunfermline and the staff were wonderful. Everyone was so kind and considerate. My scan was clear apart from a small kidney issue which led to an appointment with a consultant. He explained in simple terms that the issue was nothing to worry about and no further action was required.

The work done by the RCDS team is marvellous and the speed in getting an appointment and results is quite incredible. This, together with the caring approach by the staff,  made the experience less stressful.
