"She genuinely cares about each patient"

About: Antrim Area Hospital / Pre-Assessment Unit

(as a service user),

I was given an appointment to have an assessment done before my surgery.

All the staff I seen were lovely but one of the nurses Louise, she was brilliant. Louise talked me through all I needed to know and answered all my questions. She genuinely cares about each patient and takes time with them to explain things.

The day I was in Louise went the extra mile to answer a question I had. She made me feel at ease and she honestly is one of a kind. She has a lovely caring nature. I walked out of the appointment feeling less worried and stressed.

Thank you again to all of the staff especially Louise.

My name is Marie Devlin and I am the manager of the pre assessment unit. Thank you so much for taking the time to let us know that you left your appointment with Louise feeling less worried and stressed. Louise and the girls work very hard to make each patients experience personal to them and I am extremely proud of them all. We understand that patients can be very apprehensive about their surgery and anaesthetic and we try to allay any fears or worries that they may have. I wish you well with your pending surgery and a speedy recovery.

I will pass this onto Louise, she will be delighted.
