About: NHS 111 (South West) West Cornwall Hospital (Penzance)

(as a relative),

We were on holiday in Penzance for Mum's birthday earlier this week and luckily we had 2 good days until she got food poisoning. After a day of hoping she would get better with lots of fluids we in the end called 111 and had the most fabulous, professional service from the 111 call handlers and the Darren the local phone clinician. He suggested she go to the local West Cornwall hospital, although rather than having to sit and wait they called back and gave us a time.. We look mum up there at 10pm and she was home feeling supported and giving us all peace of mind with great recommendations.

We only wish we had such a great service & support where we live in the UK from what we received from the West Cornwall team... thank you, you should all be very proud of your service and team

I am sorry to read that your mother had suffered with food poisoning whilst visiting for their birthday and needing medical assistance. I am pleased that your mother was able to receive professional service from the 111 service who advised you to go to West Cornwall Hospital. It is fantastic to read that you had such a positive experience and the staff were able to support you and your mother and ensure your mother had the treatment they needed.

I hope your mother is recovering well and finger's crossed you will be able to return to Cornwall again.

I will be delighted to forward your kind comments onto the team at West Cornwall Hospital for their attention as I am sure they would be thrilled to read your lovely feedback.
