I came in on Thursday morning for an elective caesarean. The experience went so well and everything so well explained to me throughout the whole process. The midwife that was with me in theatre was so good. It went absolutely brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble and they were very reassuring and supportive. The staff on the ward have been brilliant, even though they are so busy they will make sure they get round to you as soon as they can.
The only thing I could fault was the lack of clarity on my gluten intolerance. It was stipulated on my notes prior to coming in, yet when any meals came up from the kitchen none of them were suitable for my intolerance. I had taken in my own cereal thankfully. Maybe the kitchen needs to be more thorough in checking this to ensure everyone is catered to properly.
But the care has been fantastic!
