About: New Victoria Hospital / Day surgery

(as a relative),

My Dad recently attended Day Surgery for an eye procedure and had so much positive feedback I felt was important to share.

He commented on the professionalism and person centred care he received from all the staff - from receptionist at Day Surgery, nursing and medical individuals that he saw. He was blown away by the paperwork involved - checking his personal details etc - but that this was all carried out clearly and helped make him feel at ease during his eye operation.

Simple things like asking how his journey to the hospital was and making conversation really makes a difference to someone who is nervous and unfamiliar with hospital settings. Thank you for the care shown to my Dad.

The words you have used to describe the staff as professional and how they treated your dad with patient centred care is the standard of care we aim to achieve every day here in the Day surgery Unit, so I am delighted to read that your dad experienced this as a patient and it helped to make him feel more at ease when he was with us.

I will ensure that you and your dads kind feedback is shared with the entire Day Surgery team. Feedback from our patients certainly keeps the team striving to deliver best care they can every day. Thank you.
