"My weekly visit for dialysis"

About: Daisy Hill Hospital / Renal Service

(as a service user),

I come in to Daisy Hill Hospital to the Renal/hemodialysis unit 3 times a week. The staff are so lovely. Carolin is amazing! I could name a load of them however. They are all brilliant in here! They are constantly offering me refreshments such as tea/coffee/water and biscuits to keep me going during my visits. The only complaint I would have is that they ward can be a bit cold at times, however the staff are always very kind bringing me extra blankets when I mention it to them. The service is always excellent and the care I receive is fantastic!

Many thanks for taking the time to give us feedback about your experience while attending the haemodialysis unit for your dialysis. I am delighted to hear that you have found the staff kind and helpful. I will ensure to let both our nursing and domestic staff know how pleased you are with the service they provide. I will also pass on your appreciation of Carolyn to her.

I am sorry to hear that on occasions that you have found the ward cold, unfortunately as part of your treatment your blood is cooled down by the dialysis machine which in turn makes you feel much colder than you would normally. Please do ask staff to adjust the heating or we have recently purchased a blanket heater following a member of staff raising funds by completing a sponsored walk. We are always happy to provide extra warm blankets.

I wish you well with your ongoing treatment and please feel free to provide ongoing feedback.
