(as a service user),

I attended the Colposcopy clinic in Arbroath infirmary and had treatment a short while after in ninewells by specialist nurse Fiona.

I had a cancellation slot and had not received my results via post yet so did not know what to expect when I arrived and was very upset to find I had abnormal results and required further testing. Fiona was super reassuring and the OPD nurse and student nurse held my hands whilst I cried and distracted me.

Fiona made sure I had results promptly as I was worried I wouldn’t receive in post and saw me again in ninewells. I hope my next smear is negative and I don’t see you all again but I know if I was to I’d be well looked after.

Thank you for the feedback you have shared in regards to accessing the Colposcopy Service within NHS Tayside. I am sorry that you found yourself in a situation that meant you required to access this service but am pleased to hear you were well looked after and distracted during the procedure.
