"My husband and his mobility."

About: Community health and care services / Fife Equipment Store Community Occupational Therapy / Kirkaldy & Postural Management

(as a carer),

Approximately 18 months ago we first met Cherry our occupational therapist. Almost immediately she got a frame for our bed and a cushion to heighten his chair.  We also tried a seat in the bath as my husband had got stuck previously.  Cherry helped us get a wet floor shower. She got us help from a care and repair service and helped to fill in all the forms.

We have lived in our home over 50 years and the outside stairs have been a problem. We have had a long wait, but a few days before Christmas the external lift was fitted.

Cherry kept us informed at every stage. This is going to be a huge asset. As we go in to spring. We are really happy with all the help we have been given.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback about the service you have received from the Community OT service. Our service very much aims to support people to maintain their safety and independence in and around their homes and to meet the needs of people like yourselves, wherever possible and reasonably practical. So, I am therefore really pleased to learn that we have been able to effectively help you both to be able to remain in the home that you have shared for over 50 years.

I will ensure that your very kind and generous feedback is shared with Cherry. Receiving such positive testimony is always a morale boost for our staff members and I am sure she will be delighted to know how much you have appreciated her input. I am sure that Cherry will join me in wishing you the very best for the future but if we can be of any further help in the future, then please do not hesitate to recontact the Community OT service through the Social Work Contact Centre.

Kind Regards, Neil
