About: Daisy Hill Hospital / Direct Assessment Unit Daisy Hill Hospital / Stroke Unit

(as the patient),

I suffered stroke like symptoms and my friend rang 999. I was categorized as category 2 due to my age (in my forties). I was taken to Daisy Hill by friend and immediately taken into emergency care.

The stroke team were in place waiting for me as soon as my blood pressure  was taken. I received full dedicated care and attention.

I recovered quite quickly however due to lack of MRI facilities stroke was not confirmed for 3 days. On confirmation I was brought back in straight away and full set of tests completed in record time including cardiac investigations.

The care of all staff in DHH was exemplary and I will be forever grateful.

Good morning,

Thank you so much for taking the time to give us this feedback. I'm sorry to hear that you have been unwell. I'm pleased to hear that the majority of your care was so good, our staff work so hard to ensure that each Patient has the best service they can provide.

I can understand that waiting on tests such as MRI can be destressing, hopefully you have the answers that you need to better help your recovery. Within the last six months the Trust has invested in a temporary MRI scanner in DHH which has been of great benefit in reducing the length of time waiting for tests such as these.
