I fell down 3 stairs in my home at the beginning of Oct 2023. I fell shattering my left knee against the wall. I live alone but managed to dial 999 were I was told there was a 3 hr waiting for an ambulance...In fact I only waited 1.5. I was in extreme pain and it took an hour to get my pain under control. The 3 paramedics couldn't have been nicer and patient.1
I was taken to A&E in NDDH.. then to a ward and operated on 2 days later...In my 2 week stay I was moved a few times from A&E..KG5 ...Glossop ...twice each but all the staff everywhere were friendly kind and helpful.
On my return home I had excellent carers come twice a day and a brilliant rehabilitation team.
Im sorry i dont remember all the peoples names as there were so many! Teresa who I knew before and of course, Physiotherapist Ejike who made me believe I would get better and climb the stairs and steps and walk up the street again.
The exercises have and are still tough but with his patience and kindness im getting there....I will miss him when it stops as he has been my confidence {besides the brace }!!!!!!!
There arent enough words to say THANKYOU EVERYONE
