I was admitted to Victoria Hospital as an emergency, suffering from gallstone complications. After an almost unbearable night of pain, sickness, soaring temperature and convulsions I was transferred to Ward 52 - surgical - where I stayed for 5 days.
The care I received from every single member of staff was absolutely exemplary, from Brian, who diligently cleaned my room, Megan the healthcare assistant, who should surely transition to becoming a very good nurse, to Mr Wilson, who performed my surgical procedure.
The nursing, healthcare and auxiliary staff on the ward are all precisely the sort of people you'd want looking after you or a loved one. I met so many great people I can't remember all the names, and some I only met during the night as they came to change a drip or check on me, but I am thankful for every second of their kindness, humour and professionalism.
I couldn't have been in better hands.
"Thankful for the kindness and professionalism of Ward 52 team"
