"Floaters/cataract"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Ophthalmology

(as a service user),

Been troubled for years with eye floaters but recently eye sight got worse and was sent to Hairmyres for further investigation. The doctor and staff were very helpful giving me all the information about the procedure and what to expect. Within two weeks I was at a pre assessment and was again put at ease by the staff, and again told what to expect before, during and after the operation, and asked if I wanted to know anything else just to get in contact with them. So just waiting on a date but was told there was a big waiting list so could be some months to wait.

Great Staff, great service thank you very much

Dear BhillSicknote

Thanks so much for your positive feedback following your recent pre assessment. I will share your comments with the team.

Sorry to read that you have been experiencing problems for some time with floaters in your eyes. I hope that you are now on the right pathway. There is indeed a large waiting list that the team are working through. If there are any changes in your vision please contact your optician for a review.

Kind regards

Lise
