"Stroke rehabilitation"

About: Community Wards / Stroke Unit Occupational Therapy / Occupational Therapy - Neurology Outpatient

(as a service user),

I suffered a rare Celebellar stroke in 2022 in my early 40's! Happened out of the blue with no warnings. It was a horrible experience to go through and  throughout the early recovery process in hospital I felt that my world had collapsed. Also thought I’d never be able to drive again and considered selling my car!!! However after spending 12 weeks in hospital I finally got home where I felt that’s where the real recovery was going to start. With the help of, in particular, Occupational Therapy and the rehabilitation to help get me back on my feet and to where I am today. I cannot thank these people enough. I now feel so much stronger for their help and the fact they have helped me -  I couldn’t have had a better team. I’ve been so positive throughout this experience as I feel this is the only way to get through it.
