"Such special memories of the time spent here."

About: Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary / Maternity care

(as a service user),

I spent 55 hours at Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary birthing my first son in October 2023. The care was brilliant, by all team members I encountered and the facilities were very comfortable, I really enjoyed my stay.

I will always have such special memories of the time spent here. We spent 22 hours in a birthing suite and the rest of the time in a private maternity suite. The birthing suite was massive and had a pool in it.

Everywhere was very clean. The food was nice. There was a pull out bed for my husband. Visiting was easy for my parents. We got lucky with parking but it can often be difficult as it is so busy.

Hi @Link21

Thank you for taking the time to feedback on your recent experience. I am delighted to hear that you hold such special memories of your time in the maternity and birthing suite. The whole team deserve the praise as they work hard to provide person centred care and I will be sure to pass this on.

May I take this opportunity to wish you and your family well, again thank you for your lovely words.

Best wishes
