"A 6 week long inpatient experience"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / Gastroenterology

(as a service user),

I was admitted to Ward 3D for 6 weeks and have only been discharged in the last week. From the minute I arrived in the ward I felt that every nurse and nursing assistant went above and beyond for not only me but every other patient there. They have had to deal with over crowding, aggressive and violent patients and no matter what they dealt with they did so with the utmost respect and dignity. I normally have bad experiences in the hospital and my mental health always takes a massive dip but every one of the ladies in Ward 3D not only helped my physical symptoms but were always aware of my mental health and I never even needed to say I was struggling as they recognised it straight away and always managed to put a smile on my face. I cannot thank Ward 3D enough for their care and support. I honestly felt so well cared for and was always kept up to date with anything happening to me which is a massive bonus as I always feel communication in the hospital is dire but not this time at all. I was so well cared for but not only me but my family felt supported by them too especially my 10 year old daughter who normally hates visiting me but she loved coming to see me and the nurses. They took time and effort to make my family feel at ease with me being in hospital. The team work between these ladies was also wonderful and it made it as much of a pleasant atmosphere as it could be whilst being so unwell in hospital. Thank you so much Ward 3D I think you are all angels.

Dear MrsE88

With apologies for the delay in responding to your lovely feedback, I would like to thank you for taking the time and trouble to share your healthcare experience with us via Care Opinion.

I am glad to hear that you received such kind, professional and compassionate care from our staff in Ward 3D and it will be my pleasure to share your kind comments to the wider Team in the Ward. It’s often the small things that can make such a difference, such as a kind word or a smile and I am glad that our ward staff were able to put you and your family at ease whilst you were under their care.

Our staff really appreciate receiving feedback from their patients. I know they will be delighted to receive this feedback and it will be really encouraging for them to know that you felt so well supported by them.

Please accept my best wishes for your ongoing recovery and thank you once again for taking the time to acknowledge your care experience.

Kind Regards

Pamela
