Attended children’s A&E when my toddler had a fall. Followed the signs to “Children’s A&E” and waited for attention, only to be told to go to the main A&E reception first. Waited, registered there and then directed back again to Children’s A&E to give details there. This should be made more clear and less confusing for patients. Lots of toys to keep children occupied if able to play, but then I began to understand why they need them as there was a long wait to be seen and children become restless. Chairs could be more comfortable. Once seen to, the treatment rooms were decorated to distract children and things for them to look at, staff pleasant and treatment was satisfactory.
