I can’t remember the name of the physio, there’s 3 or 4 of them. They got me on this exercise plan and I had a chest infection when I started so they put me on a light programme and after two weeks I went to the heavier exercises and the walking test. The talks at the end were very informative. The breathing exercises I found very helpful and the class was quite small but we all found it fun and got on together.
After 2 weeks I was on a heavier programme and the physiotherapist encouraged this and to do our best. We were all at different levels. I pushed myself because I was there at the rehab to help myself and to improve my breathing. The exercises were sometimes tough but they gave me encouragement and sometimes they made me laugh. The talks were informative, telling you what to do if you were in difficulty or find yourself with a chest infection and giving you exercises. They sorted out my rescue pack for antibiotics and steroids, I have this on prescription and this is a good thing because it can help prevent a hospital stay and getting worse. The rescue pack is a brilliant idea.
My health and fitness level has improved. The walking test has improved from 200 to 420 because I pushed myself and was so encouraged and the staff couldn’t believe it either. After the exercises and I went onto the talk the staff made us a hot drink and biscuit so we all felt welcome. So thank you very much.
"They gave me encouragement"
