"How can the system be so broken so quickly?"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Accident & emergency Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Acute assessment unit

(as a service user),

I am still in AAU in Forth Valley, this is nearly 12 hours since coming in but 15 hours since contacting 111.

The staff are amazing at their jobs but are constantly having to apologise for long waits. How can the system be so broken so quickly? What can be done and who will actually try and help the system rather than false promises?

Dear empathyxd56

Thank you for taking the time to share your recent experience of our assessment unit. I again can only apologise for the long wait you have had. I agree that our teams are doing an amazing job providing quality care in such challenging times.

We are currently experiencing significant demand on our services and we are working tirelessly to improve and prevent patient experiences such as the one you have described.

best wishes Pamela
