"I can only say thank you from the bottom of my heart"

About: General practices in Greater Glasgow & Clyde Royal Alexandra Hospital / Accident & Emergency Royal Alexandra Hospital / Acute Medical Unit (Ward 2) Royal Alexandra Hospital / General Medicine (wards 8, 10, 11, 14, 18 & 27) Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as a service user),

I would just like to say a massive thanks to to nursing staff at my GP surgery after I had a stridor attack.

Paula the sister of the practice was fantastic, as was the Ambulance crew who treated me and taken me to hospital.

I was triaged very quickly, then suddenly became very unwell again and was taken straight in to resus, where I spent 9 hrs before going to a ward.

This was a very scary time for me and my family, I thought I was seriously going to die. From the nurses to the doctors, I can only say thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Nurses Claire & Shannon in Resus, CSM Gerry, ICU Doctors Laura & Sam who stayed with me throughout my terrible scare, nurses and doctors in ward AMU & Ward 11, thank you for the best care.

As an NHS worker, you don't really think you are ever going to be in that position as a patient ,but thankfully I am slowly on the mend.

You are all amazing, just keep doing what your doing I'm very grateful to you all.

Love & best wishes what a great team 😘😘😘

P.S.Gerry what a team you have xxx

Dear Kenzie2012

Thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback on Care Opinion.

I was sorry to hear you had to be admitted to hospital after experiencing a stridor attack. I can fully understand your anxiety and trepidation prior to be admitted to the ward. Hospitals can be a daunting place at the best of times so to hear you felt fully supported by the staff was very heart warming.

I will be happy to pass on your thanks to the team who I'm sure will be touched to hear you had such a positive experience while under their care.

I hope your feeling a lot better and recovering well back at home.

Kind regards

Kevin

Thank you so much Kenzie2012

Your kind words are truly appreciated. Such a frightening experience for you and your family. It's never nice being on the receiving end as a fellow NHS colleague.

It's so humbling to be able to respond on behalf of the ED team involved in your care. I am incredibly proud to work with such a great team here at the RAH. I will make sure all those named get sight of your post.

Wishing you a speedy recovery and thank you once again for taking the time to share your experience on Care Opinion.

Gerry
