"I felt understood and valued"

About: Community Forensic Services / Nottinghamshire MBT Service

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

The MBTi group has helped me massively to understand my emotions and think about other people’s emotions.

The facilitators listened to what every member of the group had to say. I felt understood and valued. It has been a fun experience and I have enjoyed learning more about myself and emotions.

Sometimes I felt the groups were a little bit short and there was not always the time to properly discuss everything.

Most of the information was easy to understand, however I did struggle with the poles of mentalizing. I didn’t always have time to look back over the summary sheets but the homework was good to put into practice what had been taught in the session.

Thank you so much for taking the time to feedback on your experience of the MBTi group. It's really helpful to hear what aspects of the group aided your learning and that you were able to practice these outside of the group. Often the session material in the groups can bring about a lot of discussion, and whilst this is positive, it understandably can mean groups feel short in duration and there is not enough time for a full discussion. I hope that your individual appointments that ran alongside the group were helpful to talk through these topics more at length and gave time to understand the session information.

It's great to hear your experience of the facilitators listening to others, feeling valued and understood. We will be sure to feed this back to them.

Wishing you all the best in your next step.

Amy
