"From the moment we arrived, his care was second to none."

About: Royal Hospital for Children (Glasgow) / Renal (Ward 3C)

(as a parent/guardian),

My son was admitted to Ward 3C Renal at the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow.

From the moment we arrived, his care was second to none.  Doctors who took the time to explain what was happening to him, what treatment would be required, how this would help him and what the outcomes would be; nurses who couldn’t do enough to help you and were always at the end of the buzzer (my sons condition meant that we couldn’t wander the ward and were restricted to his room); play staff who were on hand with toys and activities to help you entertain your child; cleaners who were so pleasant and chatty when they cleaned your room; and porters who helped you navigate the hospital when you had to take him down to surgery.

My son was in hospital for 11 nights and staff could not have been more caring, supportive and compassionate.

Dear AH1983

Thanks so very much for such awesome feedback, this has made us truly happy to read regarding your sons care and the support provided to yourself.

I'm replying specifically in response to the Play input and the availability of the team; toys and activities. Really grateful that we were able to provide age appropriate input to your son and have directly passed your comments on (with additional thanks) to our Health Play Service Team and to our partners / team at Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity who fund our Play Services Programme on behalf of children and families.

So glad to hear your son is now home and send warmest best wishes for his ongoing recovery.

Kindest regards

Coral
