"Women's health appointment at Crawley Hospital"

I had an appointment to remove and biospy polyps.  I was attended to by a an amazing team of three very expert and compassionate women.  I was pretty scared, I don't even go for cervical smears.  I was hiding my nervousness by talking a lot and making very bad jokes.  They were so thoughtful, kind and tailored their care to my preferences and suggested options for ongoing treatment I had not been offered or been able to consider before which resolved my issues in a much more tailored way.  Their attention to my dignity and comfort and their compassion with step by step instructions, repeating them gently when needed, recognising how I was pretending to be ok but actually very nervous, makes me emotional and very grateful.  

I am not a typical candidate for some options for treatment, but my surgeon was able to identify how one of them might be the answer to my problems and was able to offer it to me.  I was surprised I wasn't just giving background information when asked but actually information my surgeon was using to plan my future care.  

The amazing women in this team held my hand when I needed, guided me as to what was happening at every stage and even told me when to use the gas and air when I was about to need it ...and when to reduce my use (I think I got carried away at one point).  I have a clear plan for my next appointment and I have been given a series of options, I was able to make a choice and I have been given additional advice about which pain management options will be in place.  

This team of expert women are amazing.  I hope they know how every detail of what they do matters and makes such a huge difference.  I really trust them and feel emotional when I think about how kind and thoughtful they were.
