"I didn't see the surgeon after my operation for any feedback"

I was disappointed I didn't see the surgeon after my operation for any feedback (nasal polypectomy) so can only presume was a success? Also was confused with the 'packing' that was put up my nose; one nurse said only the GP could remove, another said to wash out with nasal douches and another said they would dissolve..so still don't know other than what google tells me..

Also was a gentleman opposite me who arrived same time as me early morning; he waited all day only to be still there waiting to go home (operation cancelled) when I left in the evening, he was told he had to return again tomorrow; why couldn’t he just stay overnight rather than drive an hour home then back again for same time?
