"Support in the community"

About: Mid Hampshire Community Therapy Team

(as the patient),

It took a little while after leaving hospital for the community Physio and OT team to start visiting at our home, but when they did the quality of therapy was outstanding! They initially visited once a week, either the OT or the Physio, but then increased to twice a week after the summer holidays. The team were very knowledgeable, encouraging and supportive. They gave us confidence, encouraging us to strive for improvement and it worked brilliantly well. An amazing group of highly talented, professionals who really care.

The only negative is that there are too few of these remarkable people which means the scope for continued improvement is frustratingly time limited and many will not achieve their potential recovery as a result.

The quality of the therapy team is excellent but the lack of resourcing/funding is depressing for those who really want to recover to their full potential.
