"Terrible experience "

About: William Harvey Hospital (Ashford)

Where do you start with this horrendous place.

Took my 84 year old mum to A and E as she had pain, started well then went downhill in an almost comedic way.

Ended up in something called majors assessments and it was like a horror show.

8 hours , the Doctors have a serious god complex and the nurses could not give a monkeys , literally like robots .

Zero communication, no humanity especially towards the older people , one poor 88 year old man was dumped on a wheelchair in the middle of the room for hours, begging to be taken to the toilet , not one of the nurses was interested .

People in terrible state being wheeled in beds around the hospital by laughing uncaring people .

So much for the caring angels I’ve heard about , from what I saw it’s the comlete opposite.

Truly terrifying experience , read and heard stories about the NHS and now I’ve seen it , they may well be under staffed but the staff I saw were like uncaring robots.

I really hope I don’t have to repeat this experience it was honestly very scary .

I am so sorry that you and your Mother had such a terrible experience when attending A&E at the William Harvey Hospital.

This is not the experience that we would like any of our patients or their relatives to have. I can only imagine how distressing this experience must have been. I will make sure to share your post with the department.

Would you like to discuss this experience further?

If you would please contact the Patient Voice & Involvement Team via our email address: ekh.patientvoice@nhs.net
