"HPV, Hep A, Hep B vaccinations + blood test"

About: Sidwell Street Clinic / Exeter Sexual Health

(as the patient),

The phone number for DSH was a bit hard to work with, most of the time the numbers just didn’t work and connected me straight to the answer phone, it also made me wait in a queue then also just hang up. Although when I got through to a person they were nice.

It was very nice. I didn’t have to wait too long over the arranged appointment date. And the nurse that done the vaccinations was very nice and welcoming, while also answering all the questions I had.

Thank you for your feedback hawknn44. I'm sorry you has issues reaching the team via the phone in the Exeter clinic. The phones system is not working as well it should, particularly at peak periods when we are receiving a lot of calls and this is something we are currently in the process of trying to improve.

To make access easier in the meantime, you may be interested to know that we have just launched our online personal health record, which enables registered patients to book non-urgent appointments online. If you want to try this system out, you can read information about how it works and register here: https://www.devonsexualhealth.nhs.uk/our-clinics/myphr/

It's good to know that once you managed to access the service the team were friendly and helpful, and you had a positive experience in clinic.

Best wishes,

April

Hi hawknn44,

I just wanted to update you to say that since receiving your feedback we have made changes to our phone system in Exeter to try and avoid patients like yourself waiting for long periods or being connected to frustrating answer machine messages.

Our online booking system https://www.devonsexualhealth.nhs.uk/our-clinics/myphr/ is also proving to be a success, which means our phones are quieter than they used to be, and great for people who don't want to book online or who have a booking query they want to talk to a member of our reception team about.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback - I just wanted to let you know that we are listening and we are always trying to always improve the service to make it a better experience for our patients

Best wishes,

April
