I attended podiatry services at Ayrshire Central Hospital, without which I am unable to mobilise due to chronic buildup of hard skin and orthopaedic surgery over the years.
I left in tears and felt belittled at the attitude of the podiatrist who dealt with me, who has decided that in their opinion I shouldn’t be receiving podiatry services. The podiatrist signposted me to the use of self-care and third sector and private sector. I was obviously too much like hard work and after two appointments with them, they felt I can be discharged and go private.
To say I am upset is an understatement, having to leave a clinic in tears like a 5 year old .
If perhaps the podiatrist had taken time to read my case history they would have noted my team that have worked out my care plan - of which they are part - to keep me mobile as I can't have any further surgery.
I was made to feel so humiliated, upset and a burden to the NHS. In my opinion, your lack of professionalism, empathy and understanding divides you from the fabulous care that I normally receive.
