"Overall, was happy with the service"

About: Queen Margaret Hospital / Day Surgery

(as a service user),

Admitted for hernia operation at the local hospital.

I have to say was made very welcome by the staff. Registration was efficient and well organised at the ward, although the main reception was closed. 

Would have been helpful if the main reception was open. Overall, was happy with the service and survived the operation.

My name is Siobhan McIlroy and I am the Head of Patient Experience. NHS Fife welcomes all feedback, so thank you for taking the time to post on Care Opinion. I am sorry for the delay in you receiving a response.

I am delighted you were made very welcome but the staff during your admission to hospital for your hernia repair. I am sorry to hear the main reception was closed when you attended. Are you able to send me an email and let me know the date you attended and I can enquires as to whey the reception was not attended.

Thank you for taking the time to share feedback, I'm glad to see that you were happy with your care and that were made to feel welcome. I'm sorry to see that the main reception was not open when you attended, I have made enquiries and the reception desk is covered from 8am, so in turn our patients need to rely on the signposting to guide them to the day surgery unit. I will share your kind words with the team who will appreciate them very much.
