About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske) / Mermaid Centre

(as the patient),

I found a lump in my breast and was seen at the Mermaid Centre at the Royal Cornwall Hospital Trust at Treliske within 2 weeks.

The staff were all warm and welcoming and everything was explained clearly. I had mammograms, ultrasound scans and biopsies, all within one appointment.

While the consultants suspect I have breast cancer, which is worrying, I was very impressed with the team and facilities. I was reassured that, once the biopsy results are available, an individual plan of treatment will be decided by a team meeting and treatment can begin.

Thank you for taking the time to tell us of your positive experience of care in The Mermaid Centre. We are lucky to have completely replaced all of our imaging equipment this year and re-configure our department to meet the high standards of care we expect to deliver.
